Scenario:
Middle aged person having poor eyesight problems (very short sighted) and suffering for slight
case of Dimensia which causes the person to forget most common things. What will be attempted in
this section is to provide ways and means to assists the person in his home.
Augmented realty, the following is the information I found about Augmented reality regarding to the scenario we specified:
ReplyDeletesuch technology allows the user to actually see the real world, unlike virtual environments where the user will only what is generated by the computer. In AR the user sees the real world plus the virtual super-imposed objects on the real world objects.
devices could be used as a memory aid, where the device would notify or provide hints to the user based on previous actions the user had done/taken. To perform such task, an agent called Remembrance Agent was developed.This remembrance agent is composed of two parts, the user interface which continuously monitors the users activity ex reading writing etc.. and the search engine which searches relevant information according to the information retrieved by the user interface.
Making use of augmented reality, it allows the user to see more then what one can actually see with his eyes. By super-imposing digital information onto real world objects makes it more easier to perform tasks. the reason being that the user would know what the information being displayed would be refering to. hence it makes it easier for the user to carry out the daily tasks.
ex: plants could be labeled with special tags which indicate to the person the last time they where watered; this would not require the person to keep track of the date when the plants were last watered since the plant would 'remind' the user automatically.
